the ascent of Everest!

Yes!  Here’s BBC East Midlands Weather Reporter Anna Church completing the final few feet of our Everest Challenge for Sport Relief.  She’s the Fresian cow.  This is a photo of the Sport Relief TV show on 23rd March, when Anna proudly announced that the members and staff at the Nottingham Climbing Centre had climbed 29,028 feet on a sponsored climbathon  for Sport Relief- well done to everybody who took part or sponsored a climber.  The Centre has promised to match all the sponsorship money collected pound for pound.   The yellow object on the left of the photo is Rob Swann, who with his wife Karen (the bear on his right) climbed over 4,000 feet, got loads of people in his company to sponsor him, then decided to match his staff’s sponsorship money with his own company’s funds!  Thanks so much Rob and Karen!

Stop Press!

As at Monday 26th March, we have climbed Everest more than twice!  A brilliant achievement!  Thanks everyone!

Money is still rolling in; final total to be announced soon.
