We are open! Here are our new Covid-19 procedures
Our number 1 priority is the safety of customers and staff, so we have opted for a pre-booking system to ensure no overcrowding, and the ability to manage whatever happens on the COVID-19 front. We will have a maximum of 25 boulderers and 40 roped climbers at any one session. We realise that this is inconvenient, but it means if any session is attended by someone who has or may have, COVID-19, we can isolate the staff team involved and contact every person present immediately.
We ask that customers wear a face covering when entering the building and using non climbing zones such as the cafe, toilets, locker area.
The centre will be open to all under 18s but they MUST be supervised by a competent adult climber. Competent climbers can supervise two novices max!
14-17 year olds who have already been assessed as competent can attend without supervision but only at the following sessions:
Tuesday 5.30 – 7.30
Wednesday 3.00 – 5.00, 5.30 – 7.30
Thursday 5.30 – 7.30
Friday 3.00 – 5.00, 5.30 – 7.30
Saturday 12.30 – 2.30, 3.30 – 5.30
Sunday 12.30 – 2.30, 3.30 – 5.30
We will also be accepting new climbers, who must complete a registration form before booking a session. Novices must be supervised for ropes by a competent adult roped climber or have watched the bouldering safety video to boulder.
Walk-ins will also be accepted if there are spaces available, however we suggest that you book.
Monday 17th August Onwards
We will now be running some instructional sessions.
Family sessions: 2 hours instruction for up to 4 people from the same household, there must be at least one adult in the session. £15 per person. Ideal for parents looking to get their kids into climbing.
Introductory sessions: 2 hours instruction for adults in both ropes and bouldering. £35 1:1 or £25 each 1:2.
Refresher: an hours session recapping the ropes, £20.
Please call or email to book one of these sessions, a deposit will be required upon booking.
Normal climbing sessions can be paid for upon arrival, please try and pay contactless where possible; alternatively you can purchase a 5 or 10 visit punch card online or sign up to a standing order.
Standing Order forms are available here; if this is your preferred route, you can download one and bring it with you filled in and signed.
We have only set alternate panels on roped areas to help maintain Social Distancing, and have marked out individual bouldering sectors to keep to the 2-metre guidance. We will offer face masks for sale, or you can bring your own; they are not compulsory whilst climbing but we’d suggest you wear one around the centre. All customers must adhere to our COVID-19 Code of Practice. Please familiarise yourself with this before you arrive.
We have had to increase our prices for entry; our shop and cafe prices are unchanged.
We very much look forward to welcoming you back.
